A dental crown is a tooth shaped cap placed over the visible part of the tooth, restoring the shape, strength and size of the tooth, and also improving its appearance.
When there is a tooth missing, a method of restoring this back to function and appearance would be to use a dental bridge. A dental bridge is usually 3 crowns joined together which is placed in your mouth to close a space. The teeth either side of space are prepared, impression are taken of both upper and lower jaws. From these, a dental technician will make the bridge. Once this is assessed for fit and appearance, it is fitted with dental cement permanently. This procedure usually takes two visits to complete.
